How do I troubleshoot access issues with databases, ebooks, or ejournals?

I am trying to access a database and it gives me an error message.

Please keep in mind, 50% of access problems can be solved within a day, but the rest takes up to a few weeks after you contact us. Please start your research early, and talk to your Liaison Librarian when you need an alternative resource!

Troubleshooting access problems:

There are multiple things you can do. Try the methods below and see if you can get acces.

  • If this is an issue of being off-campus, try this FAQ. Still having an access issue? Keep reading.
  • Hard refresh your page (clear the cache for that page).
  • Clear your entire browser's cache. Read this article for more info. Then close your browser completely, and re-open the browser, and try again.
  • Try using Guest (incognito, private) browsing, if your browser offers it.
  • Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
  • Restart your computer.
  • Try a different device/computer.
  • If possible, try a different internet provider (such as your phone network and your computer network)
  • (optional) Try DNS cashe flush
